The analects is one of the quotations of body works recording the words and actions of Confucius and his disciples. It is a kind of daily life naturally, without any words decoration, but it contains the ordinary and profound wisdom, and the idea of choosing and employing candidates persons has a high reference value for us to conduct cadre selection and appointment in the new period.

　

As early as two thousand years ago, Confucius had mentioned the importance of the relationship between people’s idea and the height of the national rise and fall. For example, Aigong asked Confucius the governing philosophy, he said if the integrity and selfless persons were selected, and was placed on top of the evil persons, then the people would obey; while the evil were selected and the integrity and selfless people were put aside, then people would not be surrendering. When it comes to the incorrect governance of Linggong Wei public but without national subjugation, Confucius explained that because Shuyu Zhong took to deal with the foreign affairs, Zhuyu dealt the interior governance, and Sungu Wang commanded troops. In that case, how could he lose power? Although the King WeiLing was fatuous, he used the three people, and made the three men give full play to their roles, which enabled the country to operate properly.

　

First of all, morality is a criterion of choosing and employing persons."Moral" is the important content of Confucianism, he thinks that a person's virtue is the first and is the foundation of human, one can’t stand in the world without virtue. This is consistent with our standard of choosing and employing persons which insists on both ability and political integrity and puts morality in the first place."It is the characters of swift horse not its strength that worth the praise."Confucius said: "the readers should be committed to virtue cultivation, if someone can't adapt the poor life with rags and coarse food, such person is not worth to talk events with."Confucius said: "even if someone has talent and beauty like Zhougong, if he is very proud and narrow, he is not commendable either."He thinks the good character is far more important than intelligence, and the good moral character can make a person's intelligence into full play. Otherwise, no matter how much he has amazing talent, he is not commendable either.
